Mental Health Workforce
You are the frontline in the mental health support sector, and you are arguably the most significant instrument for successful implementation of the NDIS. You have the capacity to reach large numbers of potential participants and build awareness of the NDIS in your local area. It is important that you feel fully informed and equipped to support the people you work with to prepare for their first plan, link into mainstream and community supports and to build their capacity for choice and control.
It is a time of substantial change that requires us all to shift our thinking about how we best support the people we serve. Your role could include providing information on the NDIS pathway, supporting a person to identify their formal and informal supports or simply assisting a person to dream of their future.
